Devils fans have been eagerly wondering what was going on with the young blue liner Damon Severson. On Monday morning the awaited Signing of the restricted free agent was finally put in the books.

Severson, arguably the only promising piece to the defense from a year ago, was an important player for the Devils to get back. He is coming off a career high 31 point season, and for a defensive unit that is poor at best when it comes to possessing the puck.

With the addition of the Hobey Baker winner Will Butcher, the devils are now moving in the right direction on defense. Butcher and Severson provide two high potential young guys that we could see on the blue line for many years to come.
